Sultan Qaboos University, established by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, began construction in 1982 and enrolled its first students in 1986. The university features traditional Omani and Islamic architecture, with arches and courtyards in white and pink sandstone. It comprises various colleges, including Medicine, Engineering, Agriculture, Education, and Science, with later additions like the College of Arts and the College of Commerce and Economics. The campus maintains Islamic gender separation and integrates native landscaping, creating a functional and attractive educational environment.
